Before expanding the line, OLAPLEX started as a 3 step system with all three steps containing the same patented active ingredient. A single ingredient chemistry, free of silicone or oils, that links broken disulfide bonds in the hair during and after chemical services, strengthening them permanently until bonds break again. Nº.1 is the concentrate, Nº.2 is the cream form, and the Nº.3 is a take home version of the Nº.2, formulated for clients. Both Nº.1 and Nº.2 are for salon professionals only and cannot be purchased without a cosmetology license.
Nº.3 is the original at-home bond builder and gives people the ability to restore their hair from the thermal and mechanical styling they do on their own. Flat irons and curling wands can cause just as much damage as a salon chemical service, just by consistent use and heat.
